BEST ORIGINAL COMPOSITION IN A TV PROGRAMME Score
Dangerous Liaisons
Composer: Anne Nikitin at DNA Music, UK
Orchestrator + Conductor: Tom Kelly
Directors: Leonora Lonsdale + Olly Blackburn
Studio: StarZ / Lionsgate
This 8-part StarZ / Lionsgate series was effectively wall-to-wall music and Anne Nikitin worked her magic with the utmost skill, even composing a 12 minute opera for the gripping final episode.
“This score was not a traditional orchestral score but more avant-garde married with some traditional elements. The big sweeping orchestral score was recorded with the Prague Metropolitan Orchestra in Prague with the more avant-garde elements at Air in London. The musicians in London were incredibly good at attacking the score and add personality to it - in keeping with the more rounded characters in the series along with the more passionate, dirty and downright malicious characters!” Anne Nikitin
